A day after targeting Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, Handlooms and Textiles Minister P Shankar Rao on Saturday dashed off another letter to Congress president Sonia Gandhi appealing her to take a decision on Telangana state favourably by Diwali festival.

In the letter, Shankar Rao insisted that the Telangana state be formed before the Diwali festival. Reiterating that resignations would not be a solution to Telangana issue, he made it clear no one could stop him to submit his resignation.

Stating that he would continue his fight against corruption, he alleged that some vested elements were trying to foist false cases against him. However, they would not succeed in their attempts, he said.

Peeved over media reports linking his name with irregularities in Greenlands issue, he challenged them to prove the allegations with substantial evidence. Stating that he never resorted to irregularities, Shankar Rao said that he was ready for any kind of probe into the issue. (INN)
