LOS ANGELES - USA - The fifth Beckham baby, who is set to be called Gucci, already weighs more than Victoria Beckham, concerned doctors at the Cedars-Sinai hospital have revealed.

There are serious fears for Victoria Beckham's health, because the baby she is carrying already weighs more than her and there may be problems during the birth, doctors claim.

"Somehow we're going to have to pull that thing out of her. Even a cesarean would be a problem with that stick," Dr. Arnold Kovavovic, one of the team of obstetricians who will be delivering the baby soon, told the LA Times.

During her pregnancy Mrs Beckham has had to be wheeled around on a special trolley because the baby bump dominates her body and she does not have the strength to walk on her own.

The customised contraption takes the weight off Posh's legs and enables her to carry out her daily tasks, like not doing anything at all, shopping and scowling in front of a mirror.

"Victoria is going to be a great mother to Gucci. She wanted to call the baby Burberry but we went for Gucci instead. It's a beautiful name and if we have another baby we'll call them Fendi," doting father, David Beckham, revealed to American talk show host, David Letterman, yesterday.

Former minister JC Diwakar Reddy reiterated that the Congress leaders would accept the decision taken by the party High Command on the Telangana issue.

Talking to reporters here on Monday, Diwakar Reddy said that there was no need for further consultations on the issue with any leaders. Referring to Union Health Minister and Congress state-incharge Ghulam Nabi Azad’s statement saying that another round of consultation would be required to resolve the issue, Diwakar Reddy said that the Centre and Congress High Command were fully aware of the facts and opinions from both the sides. Therefore, further consultation should be avoided and the Centre must announce its decision on the Telangana issue.

Diwakar Reddy praised Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and PCC president Botsa Satyanarayana for having succesful delibrations with the RTC employees’ union that subsequently led to the withdrawal of strike by the National Mazdoor Union. He also denied reports that the Chief Minister was rebuked by the High Command for alleged mishandling of the general strike situation. (INN)

T Effect : APSRTC to be Privatised?!

Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation managing director Prasada Rao on Friday stated that corporation has suffered a loss of nearly Rs 140 Crore due to the employees’ participation in the general strike of Telangana agitation.

Talking to media persons, Prasada Rao appealed to all employees to withdraw the strike considering the future of debt ridden corporation and people’s interests. “If the employees continue their agitation, the losses would continue to mount," he said.

Stating that the government was proposing to privatise the corporation due to losses, he asked the employees to join their duties immediately to avoid privatization.

Earlier, the managing director said that the festival advance and salaries would be given to the employees who withdraw from ongoing strike.

The RTC employees strike entered 15th day on Friday disrupting the transport sector in 10 districts of Telangana region. Nearly 10,000 buses in the region are off roads and about 60,000 employees supporting the agitation. Nearly 85 lakh commuters travel daily on an average in the RTC buses.

Will not join TRS: Nagam

telangana Nagara president Nagam Janardhan Reddy on Friday made it clear that he would not join any political party including telangana Rashtra Samithi.

Talking to media persons, Nagam said that he would continue his agitation until the Centre grants statehood for the telangana region. Stating that the formation of telangana was not possible with one party, he appealed to leaders of political parties to make joint efforts towards mounting pressure on the Centre to achieve their goal.

However, stating that telangana state not possible with telangana Rashtra Samithi, he predicted that TRS would merge in the Congress soon on the lines of Praja Rajyam Party.

“My prime goal is achieving telangana state, the long-pending dream of people. The agitation is not the property of anyone. I will continue my fight till statehood is achieved,” he stated. "If people of region wish for establishing party, I will float a new party," he said.

Meanwhile, rumours are doing the rounds that Nagara members Jogu Ramanna and Venugopala Chary might join the TRS soon.

Will Governor favour President Rule?

political circles in Andhra Pradesh are abuzz with whispers over the AICC High Command’s summons to State Governor ESL Narasimhan. It is pointed out that there is more to it than meets the eye.

The Governor has ostensibly been called to New Delhi for a first-hand feedback from the horse’s mouth with regard to the volatile situation that prevails in the ten districts of Telangana region, including Hyderabad.

It is believed that by calling him a day ahead of Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, the party bosses want to send the message loud and clear-there would be nothing honky dory hereafter.

Driven to a Catch-22 situation, the Congress high command is in no position to initiate disciplinary charges against errant party leaders, who have been defying the diktat time and again. The fear stems from the fact that Andhra Pradesh sends the maximum party members (33) to the Lok Sabha.

Veteran Congress leaders from the State have been cautioning the high command that rubbing the defiant leaders on the wrong side would be nothing short of political suicide.

Ironically, several Congress MPs have refused to toe the party line and have shunned crucial Parliament sessions, despite whip-like messages. The party Legislators have been playing hide-and-seek in their own way, much to the chagrin of 10, Janpath.

In the circumstances, Narasimhan’s visit assumes political significance. It may be recalled that the Governor was at the receiving end of the Telangana Congress and TRS leaders’ vociferous tirade earlier on.

Many theories are floating and each has a potent point to substantiate individual claims and charges. For instance, there are intelligence reports that naxalites have begun infiltrating into their former strongholds under the guise of Telangana agitations. There is a marked contrast between the reports sent by Kiran Kumar Reddy and the APCC Chief Botsa Satyanarayana on the fluid situation in the State capital. Even as the Sakula Janula Samme entered its 24thday today, the Congress leaders from Telangana continue with their rebellion, which is nothing short of disobedience.

A senior Congress leader believes that with no other option to contain the proponents of Telangana State beside the overall failure of government machinery, Mr Narasimhan would suggest a brief spell of President Rule. This is more so because no amount of invitations for across-the-table dialogue have yielded results.

The ball is back in the court of the party bosses and not that of the UPA.

Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu has announced that he was neither against nor supports the formation of separate Telangana State.

Talking to reporters at the NTR Trust Bhavan here on Tuesday, Naidu said that he was completely neutral on the state bifurcation issue. “In case of state’s bifurcation, I will be a leader for both Telangana and Seemandhra regions,” he hoped. He said he needs to protect the interest of his party in both the regions.

The TDP chief said that he was aware of the feelings of people from both the regions and therefore, could not support or oppose any of them. He alleged that the Congress and Telangana Rashtra Samithi have secretly joined hands to finish the Telugu Desam party in Telangana region.

Commenting on the on-going Sakala Janula Samme, Naidu said that the entire Telangana region was pushed into crisis by TRS chief K Chandrasekhara Rao and JAC chairman Prof M Kodandaram. Further, the Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy was proved inefficient in handling the crisis. He said the leaders spearheading the Telangana agitation were trying to gain the political mileage without considering that their acts were causing lot of hardship to both the striking employees and the common man.

Regarding the power cuts, Naidu said that the farmers have been suffering due to the power cuts imposed on agricultural sector. Further, the cuts for the industrial sector was resulting in job lesses due to cut in productions. He requested the Singareni Collieries employees to withdraw the strike in the interests of Telangana farmers and workers.

The TDP president also demanded that the government streamline the supply of fertilizers to farmers across the State. He alleged that due to government’s inability, an artificial shortage of fertilisers has been created and the farmers would be forced to spend over Rs 2,000 crore to buy fertilisers from the black market. Telangana employees in the state Secretariat on Wednesday holding protest against the arrest of three drivers who refused to join duties. The employees have given a call for ‘Secretariat Bandh’ on Thursday.

Gali Janardhan Reddy’s special petition hearing seeking to dismiss the criminal cases against him was postponed by the High Court to October 14th in view of the Telangana Bandh and the severe disruption to Court Proceedings.

Gali Janardhan Reddy’s petition says that the CBI charge sheet against him is illegal and without basis. Meanwhile, the CBI has stepped up its efforts into the investigations and a series of arrests are expected to take place soon in connection with the allegations of illegal activities of EMAAR and OMC.

Janardhan Reddy has been remanded till October 3rd by a special CBI court and there are very strong indications that the remand might be extended for as long as necessary.

Telangana decision in three months: CM

Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Saturday announced that the Centre would announce its decision on separate Telangana in the next two to three month.

Addressing a gathering of Congress workers at Camp Office, the Chief Minister said that the Centre was fully aware of the Telangana demand and also the sentiments. He said the on-going agitation was causing inconvenience to the general public, he requested the pro-Telangana groups to withdraw the general strike and wait for the Centre's decision.

The Chief Minister also claimed that he has got Sonia Gandhi's approval for the one rupee kilo rice scheme about three months ago. He said the new scheme would be helpful in eradicating poverty from the State.

Earlier a rally of Congress worked led by Deputy Chief Minister C Damodar Rajanarasimha and Sangareddy MLA T Jayaprakash Reddy came to the Camp office in support of the new rice scheme announced by the Chief Minister.

Jayaprakash Reddy told media persons that the event was organised to express the gratitude of the poor for the said scheme. He said that the credit goes to the Chief Minister for the scheme which was intended to provide sustenance to the downtrodden.

Women's welfare minister Sunitha Laxmareddy MLAs Krishna Reddy, Ch Muthyam Reddy and MLA Farooq Hussain and others also spoke.

MLA Rajaiah resign afresh for Telangana

Congress MLA of Station Ghanapur T Rajaiah on Saturday once again submitted his resignation for the cause of Telangana state.

Announcing his decision before media persons at his residence, Rajaiah said that he would never withdraw his resignation even if it is not accepted by Speaker Nadendla Manohar. He threatened to go an indefinite hunger fast if the Speaker rejects his resignation, which is being submitted third time demanding statehood for the region.

Stating that he submitted his resignation under Speaker's format only, he appealed to Nadendla Manohar to accept his resignation. He said that he took this decision extending solidarity to the general strike of employees.

Rajaiah said that the people in the region believe that the Telangana state would be created only with the resignations of elected representatives from their posts. “Respecting their sentiments and wishes, I have submitted resignation to my post,” he said. “It is not proper to continue in my elected post when all sections of people are voluntarily extending their support for the statehood agitation,” he said.

The Congress MLA also vowed that he would distance himself from all government programmes until the formation of separate state. He said that he would announce his future course of plan after September end.

The Telangana agitation took a violent turn on Friday when the activists, mostly TRS workers, physically attacked the legislators of Telugu Desam Party at different places in the region.

The TDP MLAs were holding one-day hunger strike in their respective constituencies demanding statehood for Telangana. However, their programme was totally sabotaged by the Telangana activists. More violence was reported from Warangal district where the TDP Telangana Forum convener and MLA Errabelli Dayakar Rao was sitting on a day-long hunger strike.

Hundreds of Telangana activists came to the hunger strike camp at Plakurti raising ‘Jai Telangana’ slogans. The activists tried to attack Dayakar Rao while accusing him of being a ‘betrayer’ of Telangana. The activists were demanding that the TDP MLAs resign from their post and get a letter of support from the TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu on formation of Telangana. However, the T-activists’ attack was repulsed by the TDP workers, leading to a clash between the two groups.

Having failed to pacify the warring groups, the police then resorted to lathi-charge to disperse the trouble makers. However, some TRS activists beat up TDP MLAs M Narasimhulu and Ramana who were present at the camp. After about half-an-hour, the police was able to take control of the situation. The police then cancelled the permission granted for the hunger strike camp.

In Narsampet of Warangal district, the Telangana activists stopped the convoy of MLA R Prakash Reddy and damaged his vehicle. Similarly, at Nellutla in Lingala Ghanpur mandal, MLA M Narsimhulu’s vehicle was damaged.

In Nizamabad district, some advocates attacked the hunger strike camp of MLA Annapurnama advocates demanding that the TDP clear its stand on Telangana. Later, the advocates were taken into custody by the police. At Dichpally, students of Telangana University tried to attack the camp of TDP leader Mandava Venkateshwara Rao. However, the attack was repulsed by his supporters leading to a major clash between the two groups. At least five students were injured in the attack.

In Karimnagar district, the Telagana activits ‘gheraod’ the residence of MLA Vijayarama Rao and damaged his car. In Gangadhara, some local TDP leaders had to face the fury of TRS activists.

The scene was no different in Mahabubnagar district where MLA Erra Shekhar was attacked with eggs by the Telangana activists at Jedcherla. Barring Hyderabad, similar attacks on TDP leaders were reported from all other districts in the region. (INN)

Malini Murmu was like any other teenager. If anything she was a combination of terrific smarts and very good looks. Needless to say this IIM-B student was very popular too. She had 700+ friends on her Facebook page. One of them was Abhishek Dhanu, with whom she was very evidently in love with. Yesterday Abhishek and she had an argument and in a fit of post-teenage whimsicalness, Abhishek and IIT Rourkee student posted that “I have dumped my girlfriend” on his Facebook page.

A hurt and heartbroken Malini, decided to teach Abhishek a lesson – by hanging herself to death. As this message is being posted IIM-B students are holding a vigil mourning her death. Leading psychiatrists have blasted this social media culture of confusing friends and acquaintances and said that family should be the bond on which relationships are built. Relationship experts are warning teenagers of too much social media exposure and are asking parents to keep a watch on the web behaviour of their children.
