Wig trouble : Prakash Raj walks out of a film

An incident involving Prakash Raj and director KV Anand (of Rangam fame) has come to light in Kollywood and it doesn’t sound right. A leading website has reported that Prakash Raj has walked out of KV Anand’s upcoming film Maatraan starring Suriya and Kajal in lead roles. Prakash Raj was supposed to play the villian’s role in the film. However, last Saturday, when the shooting was going on in East Coast Road (ECR), near Chennai, Prakash Raj was reportedly not happy with the make-up, especially his wig. When he spoke about the same to KV Anand, the director insisted that Prakash Raj don the same wig because it would suit the role. This incident miffed Prakash Raj so much that he decided to walk out of the film and KV Anand was forced to cancel the film’s shooting by two days. Undettered by the incident, KV Anand has gone ahead and replaced Prakash Raj with a Bollywood actor Sachin Khedekar.

The film will be dubbed in Telugu when it releases in 2012 since Suriya has a decent market in AP and KV Anand has become quite popular after Rangam turned out to be a bit hit. Harris Jayaraj is composing the music. Early reports suggest that Suriya is going to play double role in this film. On the other hand, Prakash Raj would soon begin directing his bilingual film, Dhoni.
