Former Andhra Pradesh CM K.Rosaiah will be sworn in as the Governor of Tamil Nadu today. The veteran Congress party loyalist insists that he is not in TN to carry out a political vendetta against the ruling administration. He says that he is no longer a politician.”The governor is not a political party’s representative. My role is that of a constitutional head. I am no longer a politician”.

Mr. Rosaiah has promised to extend support to the administration and function as an able constitutional head. He also said that he knew Ms. Jayalalitha well and was confident about a good working relation.

As the state of TN is gripped by a fierce debate over the issue of the death sentence to Rajiv Gandhi’s killers, the wily statesman refused to be drawn into the issue. “I have not followed it and I have no clue as to the merits and demerits of the case”, said Mr. Rosaiah.
