King Nagarjuna’s ‘Rajanna’ is going to arrive a bit late. The film was earlier scheduled for Dassera release but has been was postponed as filmmakers were not satisfied with final product and went for few changes. The latest news is that the film will be hitting screens on 22nd of December.
Another buzz is that filmmakers are intending to go by Nagarjuna’s ‘December’ sentiment as his films like ‘Mass’, ‘Manmadhudu’, ‘Don’, ‘King’ and ‘Ragada’, which were released in December turned out to be big hits.
‘Rajanna’ is set in the back drop of Razakar movement in Telangana. It is said to be based on the real situations that happened in a small village of Telangana before Independence, and Nagarjuna plays a Telangana fighter in it. Sneha Rajaram is the leading lady in the film. After being silent for almost two years following the release of Amravati (2009), Sneha is making a comeback of sorts in Tollywood, with Nagarjuna-starrer Rajanna. Sneha is playing a tribal woman in this movie. This is her second film with Nagarjuna after ‘Ramadasu’.
The film is being directed by Rajamouli’s father Vijayendra Prasad while Nagarjuna is producing it on his own banner Annapurna Studios. SS Rajamouli directed the climax action sequences. Music is composed by MM Keeravani.
