They say art reflects life’s wants. For the harassed people of the state, Telugu cinema is turning out to be a mass laughter therapy treatment. Be it a low-budget for Madatha Khaja or a high-budget Dhookudu, the reliance on comedy tracks is almost total. Both Allari Naresh and Mahesh Babu in interviews to regional channels acknowledged that they paid very close attention to the script to ensure that comedy was never underplayed.

Critics if anything said that comedy was overplayed. But the audience can’t seem to have enough. They are lapping it up. And the producers are laughing all the way to the bank.
