Pic: Kandireega Kandireega : Ram’s latest film Kandireega has nothing new to offer in terms of its story. However, it’s a well-packaged entertainer with a good screenplay and treatment. Santosh Srinivas’ debut film, as a director, pays homage to several films in the same genre, especially Ready, but thanks to Ram, Sonu Sood and Aksha’s performance, the film ends up being a good entertainer. Thaman composed the music. The film opened with good numbers at box office and the long weekend further propelled its chances of a good run at box-office.
No. 3rd position at the box office..
Ram’s energetic performance is a huge asset to the film. Along with him, Sonu Sood and Aksha steal the show, especially in the second half. Santosh Srinivas deserves a special mention for his tight screenplay and direction. The humour element in the film is well-maintained.
The first half of the film has way too many fights and the film itself is too long. Also, there are too many subplots and characters, although they do help in creating a comedy of errors. Some of the actors like Brahmanandam and Brahmaji are completely wasted in minor roles.
