Dookudu to get John Doe order against piracy

The producers of Dookudu, Anil Sunkara, Ram Achanta and Gopichand Achanta have reportedly approached the Andhra Pradesh High Court to get a John Doe order to take action on piracy of the film.

The term John Doe Order is used in to describe an injunction sought against someone whose identity is not known at the time it is issued. The John Doe order also enforces Internet Service Providers to take all possible measures to ensure that the film is not pirated and also covers people selling pirated DVDs and cable operators.

Reliance Entertainment recently has procured an order from the Delhi High Court to prevent the illegal broadcast or streaming of its film, Bodyguard, starring Salman Khan and kareena kapoor. The company said it has procured a ‘John Doe Order’ from the court restraining websites, cable operators and Internet Service Providers (ISPs) and others from infringing or violating Reliance’s copyright by illegally showing the movie.
