One of the most eagerly awaited Tamil film, Mankatha might be dubbed in Telugu, if all goes well. Directed by Venkat Prabhu, the film stars Ajith, Trisha, Arjun, Andrea Jeremiah, Premgi, Mahat, Vaibhav in lead roles. Dhayanidhi Alagiri had produced the film on Cloud Nine Movies banner; however he sold the entire rights of the film to Gnanavel Raja who is going to distribute the film on Studio Green banner. The latest buzz in the industry is that the film might be dubbed in Telugu as Multidimension Entertainments Pvt Ltd had bought the rights for AP. It’s not clear whether the Telugu version will be released simultaneously or not. The film has already been censored and it’s going to release on August 31 in Tamil Nadu.

Before the film’s shooting began, Venkat Prabhu was keen on casting Nagarjuna for an important role; however Nagarjuna didn’t sign the film and there was no news whether it’s going to be a bilingual film or not. Interestingly, all three Venkat Prabhu’s films – Chennai 600028, Saroja and Goa have been dubbed in Telugu and none of them worked. Few Ajith’s films were also dubbed; however they went without a trace. Trisha is a big star in Telugu and Arjun has done quite a few Telugu films. Andrea appeared in Yugaaniki Okkadu and sang few Telugu songs in recent years and the film’s music director, Yuvan Shankar Raja is a noted name in Andhra Pradesh. Gnanavel Raja struck gold in AP as his recent productions, Yugaaniki Okkadu, Awara, Yamudu and Naa Peru Shiva were received very well throughout AP. If Mankatha is also dubbed in Telugu, it’ll be interesting to see how the audience receives it keeping all these factors in mind.
